These are some seriously F'd up people! I mean, I knew Scientology was this weird cult and all, but, MAN, WTF is up with this? Hubbard commissioned himself as Commodor and donned a made up uniform? He lived off of a diet of drugs and rum?

This "religion" sounds like fun, but it doesn't sound anything like a religion.

You're joking right?

I think that this is a little too far fetched: Scientology having it's own private army of highly trained Navymen and women? Sounds a little like BS too me. Maybe i'll call the number listed in the recruitment ad, I hope they don't kill me.

If it's so SECRET then why is there a recruitment poster and even mention of it's existance.

Just because the number is out of order, it does not mean that it is not a real group. I mean the photos....???

Everything could have easily been staged/or doctored US navy images.

They are a real group, they don't all live on ships anymore and they are the fraternal order of the Church. It's a religious order, kind of like monks or nuns. But with spiffy uniforms.

If you go to the Church's homepage, you will find out more about them.

The scientologists have a very wealthy organization and, from what I gathered from a documentary, were in the process of legally taking over Clearwater, Florida. Having their own small navy is indicative of that financial abundance.

They really aren't very secret, most people just haven't heard of them before.

We do have a member on ATS who was a member of the SO. If you have any particular questions about the group, you should post them. Maybe he will drop in and answer them for you.

He's here fairly regularly. At least I think he's a he, it's hard to tell sometimes.

It's a real organization aimed at pulling children away from their parents and fully brainwashing them. Everything is paid for while you are there, but if you somehow manage to get out you are charged for everything (freeloader's bill).

I think I was reading something about it on clambake.org...
